Cheers mate, I've just done it, it came up with 31, which is a mass airflow meter, wiring or connector problem.

So obviously I've managed to either damage the AFM, or the wiring is up the creek. Whja I need to know now, and I'm having problems, is what voltages should be coming up the wire to the AFM to therfore diagnose whether the wiring is up the creek. If it is fine, i think I may need a new afm :-(

i have heard a few times that the K & N filters can damage the AFMs on our cars, since it is a oiled filter

Ow bollox. Thats exactly what I did. Since K&N's are supposed to be oiled thats what I did after I cleaned it.

Is that the end 4 my AFM then, any ideas?

not sure, if it just has oil gunk in it, and ur sure its already shot i would suggest taking it apart and cleaning it out, taht may fix it... but personally before i mess with something like that i make sure it is already busted lol

I've had the AFM apart already, thought it looked a bit damp in the little holes that allow the pressure reading to be taken. I bet that was air filter oil. I wonder if I blast it out with carb cleaner and leave it on the boiler overnight to dry out it might do a miraculus recovery.

On another note, wheres the cheapest place to get an AFM from?

1. I'm a student at brighton uni so money isn't something in huge supply
2. I dunno if it even broken yet lol

good plan. Ok i guess i'll hav to leave it for now.

Don't suppose anyone knows what voltages should be coming down the connector to the AFM? I'm having trouble finding them.
