In the USA, the 1988 HAD seatbelt holders. ('86.5 and '87 did not)
The mirrors of the '86.5, '87, 88 were 'molded' more to the body...'89 they went to a mirror that had more of an aerodynamic 'hole' in it. (sorry, no pic) The easiest way to spot and 87 Vs. an '88 was the '87 had a rectangle/square spoiler brake light (no pic) the '88 went to a more angled brake light. (Only the Turbo's through 1988 came stock with spoiler) Pictures here are my stock and original body (except wheels) 1988 Turbo. I am the original owner. Purchased in November 1987. ![]() ![]() ![]() |

Does anybody know anything about Canadian models? I bought my '87 thinking it was just a normal usdm '87 Supra, until one day my friend points at a button and says, "What's that?" It was the button for the headlight washers. I later read somewhere that only Canadian models have headlight washers. I also have the coin slot, where earlier in this thread it was mentioned that US Supra's don't have coin slots.

Here in the USA, the MK3 had the headlite washers from '86-'88, then they deleted that option/feature. I read that Canada got heated seats. This is typical to delete features when the manufacture opts for new features, such as the new front bumper and rear spoiler to name a few. I believe they did that to reduce the manufactures cost. I had a '90 Mustang GT and the center arm rest was deleted due to the addition of the airbag.
