But if you dont have the torque to make use of the available traction, than you not really at much of a disadvantage in a supra. Turbo 4s dont exactly have low rpm power.

Its pretty hard to beat awd with our rwd off the line, cuz they're always gonna get the lead from a stand still
Unless you jumped you can't beat the vr4 off the line,
This is me assuming that this was a streetrace, and both cars were driving with street tires
There's only a few situations that a rwd can beat a awd off the line
1 awd ddnt move
2 awd had street tires and the rwd had slicks
3 guy with the awd was a dee dee dee
And wasn't paying attention,
4 he had a reaction time of a person with a coma

I have seen a lot of awd vs rwd races
If the rwd wins its bcuz of top-end speed
