ok here we go, this is what ive been up to over the last couple weeks. i got the tranny installed, clutch in, pressure plate bolted up. I then moved to the engine, as i just cant wait any longer to hear this thing run. so i got the wiring harness finished, got my fingers crossed that it will work :o . so once i put that in, i hooked up all the connectors and hooked up the fuel lines. this week i started on the rest. put on the throttle body, ic pipes, intake filter, according hose. i also replaced as many vacuum lines as i possibly could. i got prolly like 90% of them so im happy. i put the radiator in today, and put on the lower hose along with the power steering belt, alternator/water pump belt. i have no ac so i have no ac belt, i can survive in a hard top with no ac so i think ill survive with a targa top :grinking: . so all thats left with the engine it the fan, and up rad hose. i also need to fill up with fluids. ive seemed to mislocated my fan shroud so ill be in the market for a new one. well on with pics....

oh ya i also replaced the spark plug with ngk iridiums, and the wires with ngks. back to the pics, enjoy

ah remember another thing, if you look at the top three pics, the thermostat housing is different from the one in the fourth pic. i had extra vacuum lines, then remembered this is a 89+ jap engine ( dont know which doesnt have the vacuum lines to the thermostat, 89+ or jspec) so i switched with my old stat housing. oh on the subject of jspec, appearently the metal coolant hose that goes around the back of the engine is different... the driver side is capped off. this means i cant run a line to the heater core... doh! ya im a dumbass. so instead of pulling the engine again, im just gonna by pass the heater core for now, winter is a long ways off... just hope it dont snow here any more... who am i kidding this car wont be ready for a couple of months... any ways, so instead of the heater core, i went from the back of the head to the part of the pipe that is supposed to blocked off on our cars. its the same pipe so it should work... i hope...

Yes that rig you got on your water by-pass pipe will work, don't worry about that.

Man that thing is dirty, and corroded. Did you replace the timing belt?

What happened to the other nut for the O2 sensor?

Otherwise, nice job :uh: LOL kidding! :bigthumb:

j3pz 04-12-2007 06:34 AM

lol ya it is dirty. once its one the road ill have money to start cleaning it up, just want it running! i havent replaced the timing belt, i checked it, it looked good but we will see... as for the nut on the o2... i cant remember exactly lol, i think i was gonna take off the elbow??? than stopped??? i cant remember it was a while ago...

j3pz 04-18-2007 10:13 PM

ok so i think ive got it figured out. sprayed some carb cleaner in the intake and it fired a couple of times and died. this means a fuel problem. i am getting fuel at the cold start injector so its not the pump or filter. im gonna take the injectors out and have them cleaned.

last night i ordered a new clutch master cylinder as my pedal wont pop back.
