Default Casey's RHD Swap/Build

WELCOME TO MY OBSESSION

I'm restoring my '87 Supra before I start to make modifications. I started with the interior. I did a color change in the interior. It started out as grey and I changed it to black/red.

Completely stock grey interior before I started.

This one is of my old door panels. I covered the insert with black vinyl and red stitching. But I ended up getting new ones and redoing the whole thing.

Dash is painted black along with the red air vents. I didn't really finish painting the air vents red. Theres still a few spots on it that are still black.

This is the armrests in the backseat. You can see the original color and then the black.

These are the door panels in the middle of the color change....

And after the color change.....

This is the rear quarter panel window thingy, whatever it's called. Lol

This is the center console and armrest that I recovered with black vinyl and red stitching w/ extra foam. It was well worth it. It's much more comfortable that it was.

This is the new carpet compared to the old one.

Almost completed interior. I need to get new seats or recover the ones I have in black.

And I put new red LED's in my gauges and key ring. The lights in the gauges are kind of dull because the battery wasnt charged. I did it while the engine was blown so the battery wasnt charged because I left the lights on for a few days.

Thats all for now. I will update when I get more things done. I'm ordering a new 7M-GTE in about a month or so.

Thumbs up looking good

What did you use to paint the interior? I see that the red is vinyl/leather but how about the dash? How do you change the LED? Where did you buy the bulbs? Your interior is looking great, keep me posted on progress!

I used Dupli-Color Vinyl & Fabric spray paint for everything. And that red is actually the spray paint also. It works really well. It came out a lot better than most of my family thought it would have. They have low expectations for my car. They think a 19 yr old kid cant build a 600hp car. I will prove them all wrong . And you will all see my progress. I used WLED 5-LED Wide Angle LED and 74 Wedge Base LED bulbs from superbrightleds.com. Thats the exact title of the bulbs by the way. To change them, you just take out the gauge cluster and twist out the bases of the bulbs and pull the old bulbs out and replace the old bulbs with the new ones.

Thumbs up sounds good

good luck on the build. I just bought my supra and its alittle more difficult than my past cars ie; civic hatches. I had an 11 second hatcha and it took way too much work. My friend bought a supra and put half the money that I had into my hatch and he runs low 12's but looked a million times better tailwhipping! haha damn your interior looks fawkin nice. I'm in the process of just getting my mk3 running decent so I can drive it daily. I'm locating new replacement oem parts but am having a hell of a time. Its fun though. Better than busting a nut when I find what I'm looking for! CarbonFX has a lot of cf for the mk3 . I love their hood but its like 700 bucks.... shiet I'm cheap! I just located a mint stock hood so I'm sticking with that. haha what kind of mods do you have to do to fit those 10'' tires in the frnt?

i needed to do something like what was done with the paint. so i went to my local auto parts store and bought some of the dupli-color vinyl and fabric paint. it worked amazingly well. thanks for the tip and i would most definately recommend this.

Ah, good catch. I guess thats what I get for posting at around 1am after a long day of work. Lol. And yea, the dupli-color spray paint works insanely well for just spray paint. Not sure how long it will last but it shouldnt matter much because it's only going to be a weekend car if that.

And....

I think I found new seats to put into it. It's the ones that come in the GT V6 Tiburons. Its black with red stitching and whatnot. Problem is they have airbags in them. Which will make them big money to get. So if they come without airbags I might pick up a pair. If they do then I'll just say forget it and recover my seats. I was thinking microfiber lol. But that would be crazy expensive.

These are them.....

Very comfortable and feels very well made. Since I work at an oil change place I get to test out a lot of seats while driving the cars into the bays.
