Ok, well I got all the intercooler piping on, the blow off valve hooked up, the driveshaft on, and fluid in the transmission. I went to hook up the clutch and realized I had to get a new rubber hose that is a Toyota only part. So that ended my fun because I swore to myself that today would be the day it drove. So now all I do is sit in the car, rev it, and pretending like I'm driving. It's sad. :3d_frown: . I had to buy a new battery also cuz my last one was dead. On another note, I got all my dash lights working. It was the stupid dimmer switch. I had an extra one laying around. Although I could've sworn I changed it. It looks pretty bad ass at night with all red. I'll take a pic and post it here.

I guess I hooked up my boost gauge wrong because it's not reading boost. I'll fix that another day tho.

As far as your boost gauge, I see that it is only a boost gauge not a combination vacuum/boost. You will not make any boost revving the engine in neutral.

I'm just curious, but what rubber hose are you talking about that has to do with the clutch?

It's the last rubber hose coming from the clutch master cylinder. It attaches to the hard line that goes to the slave cylinder. It's a simple fix but dammit i wanted the car on the road already. And now i have to wait until friday. I need to get my daily driver to the dealer for some repairs under warranty.

Well, tomorrow I should get the short rubber clutch line tomorrow. And if I do, I'll definitely have the car on the road. A couple more pics.

Red dash LEDs. Some of the lights look dim but I can assure you they are all mighty bright. But like some have said, you can't see where the redline starts. O well. We all know where it is anyway, lol. And the picture makes some of the climate control lights look orangish but they are red also.

And a picture of the upper intercooler pipes and TiAL BOV. Since I didn't hook up the power steering I took out the reservoir.

How difficult was it to install a universal intercooler pipe kit? Did you have to cut a lot of the pipes?

I only cut 1 pipe. Well 2, but I didn't use one of them. I cut the 140* pipe so it'll come off of the 3000 pipe and go the direction I needed it to. The intercooler pipes were a bitch to get on. I ended up using some of the rubber sections and the metal 90* piece from the stock intercooler pipes. So there is some restricted flow in my setup. But that's of no concern to me now, lol. If you are using the stock intercooler you need to get reducers. Whatever the piping size is down to 2". You'll need a reducer for the turbo as that is 2" also. And the 3000 pipe is 2.25" so you might need a reducer for that one.

Car is officially on the road now. I got it on the road on the 7th. It has a couple of vacuum leaks and it's throwing a code 14. So i need to fix that. It idles a little rough but thats ok it stays running. I've driven a little over 200 miles now on the new engine. I've loved every minute of it.

The first day I drove it, I had the wastegate shimmed to 10-11 psi. It ended up blowing up the coupler between the 3000 pipe and the TB. Which turned it into a boost leak. It felt like what some people on here described as fuel cut so I took out the shims to put it at stock boost. It still did it, so I retightened my intercooler pipes and still had the same problem. So I stepped back to look at the whole engine and i noticed the coupler was split all the way down the side. So I cut up a foxbody mustang's accordian hose and I'm using that for now. I'm about to order a new coupler.

I switched out the steering wheel to an 89 (which is much more comfortable than the 86-88) along with 89+ taillights. I only have a pic of the taillights right now. I've also replaced the spark plugs which I gapped to .32 and I replaced the spark plug wires.

Before

During

After

I'll have pics of the steering wheel tomorrow. I'm thinking about buying some sound deadening material. I'm not worried about weight so it doesn't matter how much weight it adds. Once I get the sound deadening material, i'll start to redo my interior. I'm also getting the drivers side window motor fixed on Saturday. It was a bitch to pull out so I'm using a hook up and having someone at a dealership to do it for free. :biglaugh:
