My new toy getting ready to pull the engine....
And the motor is starting to come out....

Almost.....
And its out....Thank god

Im tired after all that. It was relatively easy after everything was disconnected. I had problems with the fan clutch and the A/C compressor. They were hitting the upper tie rod so I had to push them back as much as I would with a stick. The motor and transmission are heavy as hells.

Haha, yes they are mucho heavy. 7m-ge and 5 speed is heavier than my monte carlos 305 with aluminum heads on it and 200-4r trans. The reason is the straight 6 block has to have more material on it by design. On a v8, the oil pan and intake manifold ,which are aluminum and sheet metal, make up a lot of the surface area that the straight 6 has to cover. Plus its longer and taller and about the same width, Both motors being completley disassembled.

Thats why that "taller, longer mucho heavy" 7M-GE is so smooth.
On another note. If you haven't already shaved and finished your rear wiper you'll need to weld up the old hole. If you try to just fiberglass it you will find with time that it will shrink and leave you with a nasty cracked decklid. 35 years in the body business...I know what I'm talking about. I made a few mistakes over those years lol.

What bulbs are the ones in the glove box, foot rest, cig lighter and ashtray lights? change those to red too! Im trying to track down all the bulbs in purple lol.

Thanks for the comments. Yea, the engine was unbearably heavy with the trans still mated to it. The lights should be the 74. It's the smaller ones. I'm pretty sure that u tracked down all the lights, lol. Besides the dome lights. I'll end up doing those in red too, eventually. I still need to get this friggin engine. Lol.

Cool. Does the guage backing material have a color or it just relies on the bulbs for its green? I would love to have uv purple gauge back light lol. Ive seen orange, red, blue, green, white, everything but purple. lol
