Well this sucks considering I just spent $1,200...

Well this sucks considering I just spent $1,200 for a 7mgte w/ an auto ecu and for $200 more I could have had the 5spd with it...

Might be time to sell the car and both engines and buy a bicycle.

Auto Tranny Slippage

Hey all,

When I rev, the auto tranny seems to slip as a manual clutch slips. I can drive in reverse fine. (and had to for 4 miles in heavy traffic to get home =] )

I can hold it at about 10mph...

Amt. of tranny fluid from "cool" to "hot".

Hi all,

Anyone know how much auto tranny fluid it should take to get from the middle of the 'cool' range on the dipstick to the 'hot' range. (assuming the car has been idling for 30 mins)

I used some red RTV as a gasket and it's sealed...

My upper thermostat housing bolt snapped off in the hole and I can't seem to get it out.

Was gonna do that at first but I thought the belt would slip round the crank pulley.

Locking the Crankshaft

I need to tighten the crank bolt but can't really access the flywheel to stick a prybar in there.

Is there any other way to keep the crankshaft from turning (other than the prybar)?

Been working at it for over an hour and it seems...

Been working at it for over an hour and it seems to have moved half a centimeter on one side and nothing on the other. It refuses to move any more. Any more ideas or am I fkd?

Crank Pulley Removal

The crank bolt is out but I can't get the crank pulley to budge even a little.

I've tried prying it off from every angle with an assortment of tools.

I don't have a puller.

Any suggestions...

PS Pump Removal

Need to get the belt off of the ps pump so I can access the lower timing belt cover. I loosened the nut on the adjusting strut but the pump won't budge. Is there a tensioner bolt I'm missing or could...

Timing belt is escaping!

So I'm driving along in front of a mexican in a neon'd-out El Camino pimped out with fuzzy dingo-balls when I hear a "cruhggrukurkukeherrr" (sp?).

He pulls along side me and I complement him on...

7MGE: Smoke/Mileage/Cold-Start

Hi all,

Have a problem with my n/a:

On a cold-start, the engine will struggle to idle at ~500-600rpm until it warms up a bit and will then idle normally.

Also, on a cold-start, white smoke...
