I would not think the starter is causing the stall. I would suggest you check your codes and let us know what you find. I predict a code 51 in your future..Just a guess. :)

I disagree..The fan shroud is absolutely needed to make your thermal fan clutch work properly.. With out it, it will not engage/lock the fan clutch to pull the air through the radiator.

If it is not loosing coolant as you did not say? and the fact that you say it only over heats at 45mph suggests a bad/sticky thermostat. Get a good one from the dealer, they are cheap. imo

The K&N filters flow well but do not trap a lot of dirt for the same reason, If you live in a dusty/dry area, there are better filters.
