Well my brakes arrived and they look virtually brand new. The discs are in much better condition than the scored ones that are on there at the moment and theres at least 1.5cm of pad material left on...

IIRC, all UKDM models had to have replaceable bulbs due for regulatory reasons. It might be the same for most of Europe too, but dont quote me on that.

The H4 bulb used in the headlamps contains two filaments - one for the low beam, one for the main beams. Thats why there are three wires going to it - one common ground, and two positives :)

It could mean several things - although personally i'd go with:

a) Oil pressure low until the engine heats up and the oil thins out (you have crap oil)

b) Valve Clearances need adjusting

Actually gauges shouldnt be a problem - there are enough instrument binnacles on eBay from time to time, and if you just need the speedo - then go to Toyota - they should still be able to get one...

I know about the tacho - thats covered under the conversion notes page i pasted above - but i thought you had to use the whole 7M-GTE loom because it uses a coil pack and different ignition?

Aaah-hah! Replacement of the telescopic bit was remarkably easy - now all i have to do, is wait until tuesday when the spool & cord arrive, and then it'll be all systems go again :)
