If you really want some icing on the cake, replace the tranny fluid with synthetic. Night and day difference. Took out the notchiness and roughness out of mine.

Make sure your car is hot by the time it gets tested. Drive it hard for 1/2 hour and your catalytic converter will be at their optimum. If you still fail then you need to do some work

Sounds like your syncros are going. Rebuild will probably be ~$1500. You can look for used tranny but there are no guarantees on what condition it will be in.

Anyone knows where the hose from the bottom of charcoal canister should go? Mine's just dangling free for now.

That's what mine did 2 weeks ago after I did exhaust manifold gasket. The culprit was cam position sensor sitting one gear too far (distributor in 7MGE). Mine was 15-20 degrees...

7mgte is no less reliable than 7mge. It was truly designed as a turbo from the start with oil squirters under cylinders, additional cooling, etc

Head gasket failures affect all MK3...

I drove 2 Alberta winters in my 1990 Supra Turbo on Hankook winters 225/55/16 and no issues whatsoever. Even taking it to a ski hill was not a concern.

rough idle problem

Just bought 1989 Supra Turbo (4th one I've owned) with bad exhaust manifold gasket. So I changed it out along with a bunch of old cracked hoses and installed new spark plugs.

Now it idles...
