Default ever had one of those days??

so monday was my first day at school for my 1st year as a journeyman carpenter (i have been doing construction for a long time)

and i smell burning tranny fluid on my way at 6am, so i pulled off and started heading to my papas house cuz by then my tranny was making noise, i eventually got to a hill, and it made a brutal noise and stopped working...

well i popped it off the engine (of my samurai) and checked it out that night.

turns out a bearing inside opened up, and eventually blew out of the trans. like a shotgun, into my bellhousing and owned my flywheel pressure plates and clutch housing, and starter...

so i put a new flywheel, clutch, and good trans on that night.
well this morning on my way to school my god damned clutch cable snapped in half:ran t:

freakin 45 mins late for school and ontop of that a 275 doller tow truck bill.

any one else have bad days like this...

of ya and it was like 10 degrees and my blower moter blew up a couple months back, dam it was cold...

yep, back with my old pathfinder i just put a new motor in and only had water in it for testing to make sure no coolant leaks. well a freak cold front came in over night and went from +18 to -6 (im in canada) overnight and blew the heater core. had to cab it to work that morning

definitely had days where i couldnt win if i had a million dollars to bribe fate with.

my worst yet? starting my paving job back up in march of 09.

first, took over my freinds 3 am paper route cuz her mom was sick and she had to go to cali. so i filled the day. had done an oil change the day b4, drove along, and noticed about half way through my 375 mile round trip, that my truck was waaaaaay louder than it should be.

checked the oil, none...shit. luckily i had a couple extra qts, so i put them in and limp the truck along. finish the route, look for the cause of the loss of oil. no leaks found, wasnt burning oil...so hmm. anyway, timing chain was effed, and i was sposed to be in mosby, mt (550 miles away) in about 8 hours...

do the quickest timing chain change on a 22r known to man (maybe not, but a lil over 2 hours was good in my book.) and start the drive. about 130 miles into it, just before i hit missoula, all hell breaks loose and ive got 5 different colors of smoke coming from under the hood. i kill the ign and coast to a stop.

oil and coolant had begun gushing from my timing cover towards the top. it had cracked for whatever reason. so i quick steeled it, waited for about 45 min on the side of the road, and started driving again..

got to missoula, topped off the fluids, checked my ghetto fix, and started driving again. just before great falls, its dark, and im cruising along at about 70, no problems. a deer picked this opportune time to commit suicide. didnt hurt the truck too bad, but broke my headlight, and ruined the stock metal bumper. thank god i had the bull bar on.

after removing the carcass from the road, i wonder if it can get any worse (bad idea!). i get to the other side of simms, and all the sudden see flashing lights in my mirror. pull over, ask what i did, says my headlights out, and wants to know who i had an accident with. "well sir, frankly i tried to reason with the deer population about j-walking, but they just wouldnt listen..."

got a warning for the light, and a ticket for not reporting and accident (WTF?!?!).

ended up making most of the rest of the trip uneventfully. got to work, forgot about my worries. then at the end of the week, i planned on fixing the truck while i was there, and after getting parts and tearing into it, discovered it was pretty well effed...

lets just say that i played the AAA company pretty well, snagging 300 miles worth of free tows back to missoula, then having my dad borrow a trailer to come haul the truck home...

week of hell. yes. i feel your pain!
