All great comments and things ive mostly looked into spring is back and my cars on the road but about 5mins into driving it still overheats and it appears steam is comming from my rad but looks as if might be the rad cap because the rad is new and was compression tested recently (Aka after it started overheating)
So I guess ill change the rad cap and if that dosnt work whatre your thoughts? MRICE Cheers |

![]() One possible cause could be that you have no impellor blades on your water pump! As I found out on one of my supras which previously had a few BHG `s The coolant becomes acidic/corrosive when mixed with combustion gases and etches away the impellor blades. The cost of new Toyota water pump is about $200 but you can get a new Aftermarket pump for $70 . Many supra owners in the UK use this company https://www.sapmotorparts.com but you should be able to find one similar in US. Below is a pic of a Toyota pump and an aftermarket one, as you can see the Toyota one has thin pressed-steel blades and the aftermarket one has thicker cast blades. ![]() |
