take out the intake pipe,
the one that leads into the turbo see if there's any oil in there and also check the oil return pipe, if you can these thing can bear signs of a blown turbo or a improperly installed turbo if there's any doubt in your mind DO NOT BUY THE CAR i made the mistake of trusting a guy with a mk3 already dont do the same thing these cars are good cars if anybody wants to get rid of it most of the time there's sumthing wrong with it
