Just 2 weeks ago I purchased a 1989 Supra with 114K miles on it. This car rides great and has been very well maintained, but I would like to modify the exterior. (ie body kit, rims, exhaust). So, the question is...what would give me the best bang for my buck? Paint is in great condition with the exception of the bumpers and the mirrors. They are aged, worn and ready to be repainted. Whatdoya think?

anytime you put on a body kit, for it to look good a paint job is necessary. (2-3 grand easy) rims are to your own style which can range from 600$ shipped to a few grand. exhaust should be fairly cheap if you buy the muffler you want and have an exhaust center install it. unless you know how to weld.

All in due time! The purpose of owning this car is to enjoy the process of fixing it up and taking my time. I am considering a body kit, and required paint job. Rims and tires are fairly new so I am no hurry to replace. Thanks, :D ps I don't weld!!!

Perhaps I'll give up marathon training and take up a welding hobby...sounds like a plan!!!!! Actually I imagine that being able to weld is beneficial in many aspects. Not to mention weight loss is always good, huh?

So, on another topic...what would you do about mice making nests on top of your Supra engine? Those bad boys just don't give up. You would think I would not have any mice as I have 4 cats, go figure! Moth balls don't work as I am trying now. Any ideas? :)

mice!?! whoa! i've never had a mice problem, but i'd clean the engine bay with some simple green. rinse off, and spray the hoses with armor all. i'll ask my vet friend what she'd do.

Four mice have bitten the dust so far this week, and no new nest! Yesterday I forgot to take the mouse traps out of the engine while I took it out for a ride. Lucky for me, they just settled down in a safe spot until I realized what I had done! Knucklehead!!! :o

Not sure if I am brave enough to clean the engine myself. Knowing my luck, I'll trash something. I did pull out the shop-vac and vaccummed up the engine-nest crap. (I know, this is the girly thing to do!)

Did your vet friend have any bits of wisdom? I'm curious what he/she says. If I didn't think it was cruel, I would tie one of my cats up near the car for the night. She (the cat) is a wicked mouser, but I would never tie her up anywhere.

I prefer the mouse trap so I can see the fruits of my labor!!! Sick, huh? Sort of like success. I just hate to pull them out of the trap, gross!

I hesitate to use poison as I have 2 dogs that thing anything is edible, and who said Aussies are smart?!

I suppose now you will be all set when you find a nest in your engine.

my dog wasnt smart either. he would always run in the direction that i swung. dalmations and pit bulls just dont make a good combination.
