Default O2 simulator

where can i find an O2 simulator for my 1991 supra. it supposedly sends info telling the ecu that there is no problem with the exhaust which keeps my check engine light off and pull my gas mileage back up.

Default Re: O2

Do you mean O2 Sensor? I know for NA models its pretty straight forward. I bought a Bosch Sensor at Autozone for about 45 dollars. Then it bolts onto the exhaust manifold, 2 bolts and a gasket. Reconnect the wire you will have to unplug and your back in business. It can make a pretty nice difference if the old one was shot. I hope this is what you were talking about.

Red face Takes the place of 02 sensor

He means a device you plug the 02 wire into, and it tells the computer that it is a perfect fuel mixture coming out the exhaust. Its not mounted into the exhaust.

I've read about them in some articles, and on some forums. I don't know if it will work with the factory ecu.

Question Re: 02 Simulator

So you're sayin the simulator is an aftermarket device, is that what I'm hearing? I would think if everything were working correctly you wouldn't need this would you? Just nosy.

yes. there is a universal type and a model specific type. although i've read that the O2 simulators are meant to be used on 1996 and up supras. http://www.suprastore.com/oxsensimob97.html has one for the 1996 through 1998 suprado you think i can get it to work for my 1991?
