uneven tic over

hello its me again dawn got a new problem hard to start when cold but onces started the tic over is uneven it goes up and down after a little while it tic over ok. then when you put it into drive it cuts out but when you put it into park and start the engine the tic over is up and down, but onces the car is hot there is no problem drive perfect has anyone got any idea to what it might be or as anyone had the same problem many thanks dawn 1990 3L tubro auto.

also can the valve guides seals be changed with the head on or with the head off

Yes, they can.
I think the way they do it is by inserting a rope down the spark plug hole so that the valve won't go down.

There is a write up for that in the SOGI list of write-ups, but I don't know the link myself.
I really don't know the site too well, I just know they have lots of good write ups!

Cold start problem could be in the cold start circuit, timer switch, injector.
The poor running when cold could be the temp sensor for the ECU. It may think the engine is already warm.
