Don't matter which year? Well, the MkIV Turbo Supras are damn near bombproof with a manual tranny. The bottom end of the engine is good for 800hp. The Getrag 6-speed is good for well over 1000hp, as long as you don't miss a shift. The rest of the drivetrain is just as strong, if not stronger. All Turbo Supras come with a LSD. Only weak link is the clutch which will need to be upgraded as power increases.
SC300 is a MkIV Supra in disguise, and a hell of a lot cheaper. Only downside is it doesn't have turbos (or the turbo block, though the head is supposedly better), and the tranny is usually an auto, you'll want a stick, and they did come with a 5-speed like the N/A Supras, but it's not nearly as strong as the 6-speed. Basicly anything you can get a 2JZ in will be fast... even a house will fly with enough thrust and pushing a lot of HP out of a 2JZ is getting easier... |
