Exclamation HOW Do I Adjust my Damn timing

I've looked everywhere, i cant find a simple picture or diagram that shows how to put on a timing light, where are the timing marks AND WHAT SHOULD A 7MGTE be at? 10 degrees? 15?

for instance,

my 240, hold the gas at 1100 rpms and the mark should be at tdc or at 5 degrees advanced.

Why cant i find some way to just hook up my timing light and check it with no special tools or 30 mintutes jobs?

And I heard to adjust it you need some special resister wire and cross some prongs in the diagnosis box just to adjust it?

If this is true please, can someone tell me how to check it, and how to adjust it. thank you!

You connect you timing light to the pos battery terminal and a ground then the open clamp to the number 1 spark plug. You then want to put your special wire (ie: paper clip) in to the TE1 and E1 on the Diagnostic Block in the engine bay. Here is the link http://www.cygnusx1.net/Supra/TechTi...ng_timing.aspx so you can check it out and it comes with a picture. Your crank pully has notches in it and right beside the engine where the pully is attached is your numbers it has 15 10 5 0 you probably won't be ables to see it if you have some gunk built up over it so just use some degreaser and rags to clean it off so you can see the marks. Hope the link helps you and good luck on your timing
