besides the engine, tranny, and misc. parts that are used for the clutch system, the cars are exactly the same. The only thing outside of that I can see is that the Turbo's came stock with limited slips in the rear, and swapping from an auto to a manual the rear end gear ratio is different.
The other minor thing I can think of is the gauges and maybe the holes in the body for the parts to pass through, but usually there is a line scribed or something. Overall, if you can get your hands on the drivetrain parts, I would make the effort to do it if it was my car. Keep in mind that the getrag 6-speed tranny is NON-SERVICABLE, if it's screwed up, you can't get it rebuilt, and a new unit is $6k, and a good used unit is about half that and up. Keep that in mind if you do find a wrecked one up for sale, if the engine and tranny are good (hell, the diff could be swapped too), grab it ![]() |
