Default clutch pressure

hey im set to next saturday pick up a 87 supra with an odd set up.
jdm motor no turbo installed(would think its 7mgte since he said it costed $850.) originally turboed but removed when new motor was installed
now the clutch can be pumped up to start the car but after that it sinks to the floor when you wanna shift.
my question is does it seem to be air in the system still to anyone besides me. according to the guy no leaks it worked perfect before the swap but now it drops pressure.if we bleed the system some will it make it back?
i dont wanna wind up driving all the way to virginia (6hr drive) to trade my perfectly fine running 240sx for a clunker.
