The first email I read, that was the same guy I've email to when I saw his Supra on sale in autotrader.com.

He email me the same ol sh*t. Then in my 2nd email, I told that punk that I don't have the money now and he replied back to me saying "when you have the money, you can let me know".

At that moment, I almost emailed back to him and say something like "If I had the money, I would've gotten a BETTER Supra and I would have come kick your little frad punk azz in NJ". :)

its funny, you can easily tell which ones are scams, sometimes i scan ebaymotors.com and you can see the real deals vs. the scams...i emailed one guy cause he said the car was nj ...near where i live... so i asked if i could go look at it...he was sellin at 9g's, he told me i couldnt because he just shipped it to the uk and i wouldnt be able to see it, but he had pics...he never got a cent and he never got another email from me...some things are too good to be true....dont fall for them and just be smart...and yea make sure you can take a look at the car in person before making a purchase.

If I remember correctly, Square Trade is a shipping company that delivers the item to you, and expects C.O.D. So normally it would be a good deal to use them, but these scammers seem to want the money up front, and then they'll "ship" it. I have to admit, I would be interested in buying one for that price. I guess I'll just stick with the MKIII afterall.

I looked up his Supra on Cars.com, he was only 122 miles away from my zip-code, and I told him that if he gave me his address, I would swing by and check it out. i had the same thing happen to me only with a playstation i was selling on ebay the listing price what at .99 cents and no one had bid on it. This clown then writes me a email saying he wants to pay 350 dollars for it and he was going to send a western union money order. So i get this email from western union.... or so i thought. So i asked the guy why he didnt just bid on it and pay less and he said he was from Niger Africa and it was a present for his nefiew and he needed it asap. So i tell him I want confermaition of the money and i get this email from western union saying the money is there and confirmation # And let me tell you it looked real ligiate. So i go to western union .com and run the number and it says its not valid. I call them and they say that it is a scam that they have been having alot of problems with. And it was the same thing he wanted me to send him the ps to some bfe address in africa. So when i told him he was full of it i never heard from him again. But me and a FEW friends emailed his ass for a month with all kinds of stuff till disapoinitlingly the email adress was no longer available :angry:

i shot an email that i complained to the FBI and they could see the complaint on a website
which pointed to nothing but allows me to capture the IP address

I must apologize for the error in the ad.The car is located in Coram,NY but don't worry because the car will be shipped to your location without any extra costs because the shipping fees are included in the final price.

As I've said the car is in perfect mechanical and esthetical condition and the pictures speak for themselves.The price that I'm looking for it is $7,000 but I want to find a buyer asap as I an in great need of money.I am willing to lower the price to $6000 if We can close the deal this week.

Talk to square trade and see how this truely works. Some of these places don't know that this type of thing is happening, and would probably help you in stopping it as they don't want to be the hapless middleman in a con-artist's plan.

here is a PERFECT example of one of those scams. I emailed this guy over and over... neither he or the ESCROW company would give me a VIN. when I demanded it, they stopped responding...

I knew about a scam just like that about a MKIV Supra and she was selling it for around that price...she said she was from Illinois but just moved back to Italy and wanted to sell it because of the emissions and stuff like that...the whole money issue through Western Union was just twisted too...she wanted me to put it in my grandmother's name or something like that.

the scam i had was i had the car up for sale for 7500.he wanted to send over a 10k check n me pay the change in weston u witch was strange.i told him about a scam id heard about n i havnt heard from him since.just wanted to say thanks.if i havnt of found this foum then i would of never known.i dont no what makes ppl do it but im glad i found out when i did

Heh, here's another one. Are EU emisions actually tougher than US? What do you think it'd cost to ship a car from... I'd assume quite a bit. Getting something ship to Alaska costs quite a bit. And that doesn't weigh 3,000 lbs.

I bought this car from US but when i tried to register it here in Hungary they said that i can't register it because is a US vehicle and we have to do serious engine modifications in order to comply with the EU emission standards. I just recently purchased a 1993 NA car after looking for the perfect car for nearly 8 months! Don't be fooled by people posting cars for sale at asking prices of 7500.00 or even less! Clean/straight supras sell for a minimum of 15000.00 on up to 100000.00 +++ Just because some liar says that he needs money "really fast" and decides to sell his 30000.00 supra for 7800.00 with shipping included doesn't mean you need to fire off the money to him and wait for it to arrive on your driveway. I read on this post that you never see this scam happening with a 2002 Dodge Caravan and for good reason. The MK IV supra is a timeless car. It's design, form and performance still haven't been matched by anything on the market for less than 75,000.00 and probably won't for some time. Don't lose your mind and think that you are going to steal one from some un-suspecting person that needs the cash to bail his buddy out of jail! Think about the transaction, ask questions, inspect the vehicle, ask for pictures, and when you get all of that information, think about it some more. I don't mean to ramble on but jeez!!! That's all I've got to say about this topic and would appreciate any feedback about my first ever post here on the forums. :)
