the plug wasnt in all the way
 . But now at 4,000 rpm the engine dies as if it looses fuel pressure. |

When was the last time the fuel filter was replaced? It is a pain to get to, because it is under the car over the rear differential. But, your not getting the proper fuel delivery.I'd try the fuel filter next.
