Default please help..

heh, if you even took time to open this thread, thanks. i'm new to this forum and this is my first post. i'm seeking someone's help, as i'm sure many of you know a lot about this car. i DO NOT own a supra, although i really like them. i really don't know much about them though. i know my favorite body style is the 93-98. since i'm too broke to buy a supra, i was going to try to find an engine on ebay. now my question is, these engines.. are their like differnt types of TT engines? a lot of these hooked supra's i see, are they the stock engines with just a lot of mods? i found an engine, and i'm not sure what 'type' i'm looking at exactly.. here it is http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/JDM-2...71372889QQrdZ1

now is that the kind of engine the supra's use that you see putting out like 700+hp? any and all help is GREATLY appreciated, thank you.

That is the motor from an 93-98 (Mark IV) Supra. And the very same that CAN put down 700+HP with a bunch of mods. Just takes some money.

There are only two variations "TT engines" for the Mkiv Supra Turbo...vvti and non-vvti. Other than that, all of the tt engines (the 2jz-gTe) are pretty much identical. Note that the vvti version of the 2jz-gte was never available in any Mkiv Supra sold by Toyota the US.

Yes. In fact, (relatively speaking) many of the "700hp+" Mkiv Supras' engines don't have very many mods at all. In fact, for many (in fact most around that specific horsepower level) the only changes to the engine itself is a bigger turbo and bigger fuel injectors.

NB: Please consider posting any help requests in a new thread instead of asking me for help privately. About 99.9+% of the time, private help requests end up covering great information that could be very valuable to other forum members. If you have a good reason for needing the help request to be private, I'll consider it. If not, then why not give everyone else the opportunity to pitch in too, and/or learn from the information? Remember, there's no such thing as a dumb question. We're all here to help within this family of Supra owners.
