It depends on how much money you have, and time. Converting a non-turbo to turbo is not cheap, and one of the most important things is finding a very good mechanic that not only knows about engine swaps and the like, but one who has worked on MKIV turbo Supras. I myself am finishing up such a conversion, but mine was probably a little more extensive than a normal NA to Turbo conversion. I changed mine from a NA automatic, to a Twin turbo 6-speed. When i first started I thought I would spend a good 6 -7k, I was very wrong. There are many more items that need to be changed than you would think. Of course lets say you would want to go the cheapest route, assumming you just want to reach the 420 - 450 RWHP mark and not plan to go further. A turbo kit for the NA supra will run you about $4,500 ( without the install ). I your tranny is the 5-speed, it should handle the 450 RWHP but expect it to last much shorter depending on how you drive the vehicle. If the car is an automatic it will not handle the abuse at all ( I blew my auto tranny, and I was stock NA ), a tranny rebuild to handle the extra power ranges in prices but a good build should cost in the neighborhood of at least 2k. I went the expensive route and chose to buy a JDM Supra engine / 6-speed tranny / wiring harness and ecu. The wiring conversion alone has been quite a nightmare and I have spent a good 14k in parts alone. Thank god I seemed to get the labor on the cheap, as the person who quoted me $1,900 for the complete conversion seems to be sticking to that for the labor ( which is why I have not complained much on how long the conversion has taken ).
