I have been trying to figure out a problem with my battery or should i say batteries. i have replaced 3 of them so far. The battery actually starts boiling after i have driven it for a while. I am not sure if there is a short somewhere or if it is overcharging. I have replaced the alternators 2 times already. Some are telling me it is a regulator calling for more power than the battery needs. I don't notice the gauge stating that the battery is overcharging it seems to be around 12 to 14. With the new Toyota alternator i put in i don't think the regulator is the issue. I have disconnected the custom stereo i put in with no luck. I also replaced the battery cabling just in case with no luck. There is a gremlin in there but i don't know what could be calling for more power of if i should be looking for a short. Anyone have experience with this electrical issue.

A bad voltage regulator can cause overcharging that can lead to battery boil over.
