Help me, Big decision for me.

Hello,
This is my first time buying a Supra. The car is a 96 NA 5 speed with just under 90k miles, about 89k and some change. Its a one owner and looks like its had a great home all its life. It recently underwent a new paint job, not a 300$ paintjob but a good quality one for around 3k$ ''factory IJM''. The cars tag is $15k.
I know all about the specs, TT vs NA. I dont plan on building a beast I just want a Supra. I would be happy with 320 hp so that of a stock TT. But for what its worth is it worth it? I believe so but its a tough decision 15k still is 15k. Daveh said hed essemble a turbo kit for me for around $4k or swap and find a JDM 2jzgte for around $2k then labor.
Yes or no? Im lost....

Just my opinion - an n/a Supra is not much better than a Celica. The looks without any performance to back it up is weak. Get a cheap daily driver and save up for a TT. Either way you decide to go, I hope you find a well-maintained, reliable vehicle. Good luck!

By the way, what's your application? If you're going to roadrace with your Supra, you'll need to do something about the n/a brakes. Don't try to stop TT-level horsepower with n/a brakes. When you start thinking about things like this (and adding up all the costs), you'll come to realize why an n/a-T is generally a bad idea.

I'd agree with the prior poster.

Have you driven a TT? I had/have an MKIII turbo and thought I would be o.k. with an MKIV N/A. Boy was I wrong. Even my MKIII turbo with just an exhaust felt faster than the N/A MKIV. Don't get me wrong....there's nothing wrong with the N/A MKIV but it's just not the same when you drive the TT. Once I drove the TT I knew I would not be buying a N/A and the work and money to convert the N/A to Turbo was just not worth it to me.

Good luck on your search, it took me awhile before I finally bought my TT MKIV.

Congratulations on your decision. You won't regret it. Save that $15K towards a TT - in the meantime you're TT-less (not Supra-less).

It seems my post is still lingering on the top page!
Well new one, 32k miles 1993 for 10 grand its a N/A but only 32k miles! and as low as 10k! I think this one might be the one I jump on being it sold from a retiree who recieved it from a relative he took care of until they passed away. Dont worry guys Im pretty good at spoting scams and other forms of crap and this one is legit ive spoken to him on a few occasions. Its a really easy way to get into a Supra for me....it is a automatic but hey! a 2jzgte swap would be easier being a auto I could get into a twin for as low as 14k going this way and i would have plenty of drive time left on the engine it has.
2k for the engine
2k for the labor
(estimate not exact)
