First of all the 97s and 98s are almost identical to the other year MKIVs. The only difference is minor interior and exterior cosmetics. The engines are exactly the same. The stock US spec motor was rated at 320hp at the crank but most people have see that hp translate to 300rwhp. With minor upgrades you can see 400+ hp without changing the stock turbos or internals. With 400rwhp many guys have see low 12s on the quarter mile, some high 11s. As for comfort the supra is very comfortable and the dash curves around the driver like a cockpit. Since the supra is a Toyota it is very reliable and can go for miles and miles. Handling feels very good and since i have never driven a porche i can not compare. But im sure that whatever your needs are the supra can forfil them.
