Default bought a 93 supra

i just bought a 93 supra 2jzgte but it's automatic.. i was comparing value and prices for a non turbo manual supra vs a tt automatic supra, im starting to think that i should have gotten a non turbo manual drive supra because seems like adding a turbo is way cheaper than getting a tranny swap. i looked on mkiv and it said usually u should expect 7k for a tranny swap =[ any ideas?

Over here its only $2200 $nzd (bout $1700 $US??) for a full 2nd hand kit, r154 gbox ,driveshaft, clutch kit, clutch master and slave cylinder and clutch lines.....pretty cheap considerind a 2jzgte clutch kit is over $1000 new from most parts stores

With the TT, you get a better ignition system, better brakes (both abs and calipers are vastly superior), better suspension, a better block (oil squirters), a better diff, etc., etc., etc. In short, no, you made the right decision, imho. Besides, if you drag race or 'street race', the auto will be faster in most conditions. Pretty much the only thing a 6spd is better for is roadracing.

NB: Please consider posting any help requests in a new thread instead of asking me for help privately. About 99.9+% of the time, private help requests end up covering great information that could be very valuable to other forum members. If you have a good reason for needing the help request to be private, I'll consider it. If not, then why not give everyone else the opportunity to pitch in too, and/or learn from the information? Remember, there's no such thing as a dumb question. We're all here to help within this family of Supra owners.
