looking to get a supra

thanks a lot for that information, appearantly i like to read false stuff on the internet so the stock twins would basically only be good for up to that 400 horsepower and after that you'd need to put in a single turbo kit right? and i guess the single turbo supras i was looking at i assumed were stock but clearly weren't. thanks again!!

Actually, with a very low mileage mkiv tt (i.e. 30K miles or less), you can pump out 450+rwhp through a 6spd. It takes several other supporting modifications to achieve this (referred to as bpu++++). After that (anything over about 475rwhp through a 6spd), you need a single.

so does it end up being worth it importing a supra rather then buy it here if its just for mere fact its a right handed import? because to do the bpu would you have to get 'import specific' parts? also i think i read that the turbos (or something im not sure) were made of different material? if this is the case is it possible to use parts not imported on the supra? or would i have to basically import everything both cosmetically and mechanically?

Yep the turbos are ceramic, which makes them slightly less durable, iirc.

Are you trying to convert RHD to LHD? If not, most 'bpu' parts for a LHD US-spec Mkiv Supra TT will fit a Japanese-spec Mkiv Supra TT.

I wouldn't recommend swapping out the ceramic turbos. Just drive the crap out of them, and upgrade to a single if/when you blow them.

Sorry I've never seen that website before. I will check it out though, and post back here if I find anything that's incorrect.
