Default Hola, another new guy!

Ok, I just sold my STi last week. It was a great car, running 372awhp, but I figured it was about time I go ahead and get my supra. I've been looking mostly at N/A MKIV's right now, mainly cause of the price. From what I've read, there are no TT kits for the N/A correct? Is it possibly just to pull the motor and trans and drop in a TT'd motor? I've been looking and found several TT 2JZ-GTE's running about $1500 that have 30k miles on em. Also, If I do decide just to do a swap, Ill be looking at higher mileage supras. After the motor and trans are swapped out, what else would I likely need to replace on one that has 150k+ miles? Just trying to get a bit of info just in case. I might end up just buying one that has under 50k and wait a while before I do anything to it.

*edit*

oh yea, how hard would it be to convert a auto into a manual? I've noticed that about 70% of the supras out there for sale are auto's. The motors I were looking into come with the manual tranny, but what other work is involved in a conversion? Thanks!

Correct

Yes, but you'll also need to swap the ecu, the primary wiring harness, the ignitor, the resistor pack, and the fuel pump ecu in order to make it all functional.

Ok, but how many hours? If it's an engine from Japan, they're typically low mileage, but they have many, many times the number of hours on the engine due to the traffic conditions in most of Japan.

Depends how well maintained the car was, and how hard it was driven. Best case, you'll need no other swaps.

NB: Please consider posting any help requests in a new thread instead of asking me for help privately. About 99.9+% of the time, private help requests end up covering great information that could be very valuable to other forum members. If you have a good reason for needing the help request to be private, I'll consider it. If not, then why not give everyone else the opportunity to pitch in too, and/or learn from the information? Remember, there's no such thing as a dumb question. We're all here to help within this family of Supra owners.
