thats what i was afaid of. never thought i would have to do a rebuild so i never read the other threads, but what is needed besides a dozen 10mm and 12mm? lol my dad has an engine hoist from when he used to build muscle cars, really hes my key here to all this i guess.im gonna have to bore out the piston chambers, correct? i jsut be better off fiind performance parts, a MHG, and well the other things....if you guys could lead me into th light as to what i need in parts and the procedure id appreciate it.

what does it sound like

does it sound like a loud clock ticking sound?
thats what it sounded like when my friend had problems with his lifters

now, my rod knock on my NA sounded like a horse with horseshoe tapping the pavement or cement,
only in a really really really high rate of speed

Cool

If the sound is low pitched and slow, it is a rod knock. It will go away as the rpm's increase. If it is higher pitched (not too high) sound, then it is valve noise. The rod noise will also be a little slower than a valve noise because the bottom end of the motor moves slower than the top end. If it is in between and sounds more like a rattle, then it probably is the wrist pin. This also goes away to a degree with incresed RPM's. However, you will hear it most upon acceleration and deceleration. I believe it is either a rod knock or a wrist pin knock. These are the things that could go wrong in your cenario.
