Default light on dash that tells you a light is out

That light is on. I replaced my brake light that was out, but the light will not go off. any tips?

check the lil yellow box back under the taillight, they are known to cause this problem

The little yellow box is connected to the harness that powers your tailights. Moisture gets in there and messes it up. Mine is bad too ,but as long as the tailights keep working I'm ignoring the problem. Not sure where to get the replacement ,but if you pop the access panel off from behind the drivers side light you should see it in there.

Yah. Its wierd tho, the light doesn't go on until I press the brakes....

Did you turn on your headlights and see if your tail lights light up... my brake lights would work when i hit the brakes but when my headlights were on they didnt iluminate and my "yellow" box had burnt out and was causing this i had to buy a new one from toyota for 200 bucks.

not sure how to "check". i meant find a working one on egay or a junk yard and try that, as it is a very common problem
