how high can you go?
hello everyone, new to forum, i have a 87 supra that i have been working on for quite a while now, i just recently drove it for the first time and when i hit full boost, i was only at 5-6 lbs. the car has a manual bc, do you think possibly it could be bad? i had it turned up to about 10-15 lbs, i know its not my charge pipes or vacuum leaks so this is the only thing left i can think of. Also i was wondering how high i can boost safely. the car has- hks f-con,fcd, stock pipes and intercooler, hks bov, and straight threw exhaust(hollow cats) and greddy muffler. what psi do you think ill be safe running? any help is appreciated..thanks

10 psi
i wouldnt run any higher than 10 or 11 on the stock turbo
|
that sounds good to me, i dont want to fry that turbo. i have herd that you can upgrade the stock turbo, has anyone done this? im not sure what the stock trim is but what could you upgrade to?
|
uh if i remember right it the stock trim to a GT trim they have the trims availible on ebay just look around, search for ct-26 maby

10-15 lbs?
ddnt hit fuel cut? i think u could have fried that turbo already, hopefully it was still in good shape when you turned up the boost my stock turbo gave up on me at 15 psi |
ill search ebay tonight and see what i can find, and i havent had it up past 6 psi yet cause i think i my mbc is bad, it was cut up but still hit stock boost, i think im going to take it out and just shim the wastegate, and as for the fuel cut, i have the hks f-con and fuel cut defender, so i dont think i need to worry about fuel

The most my engine has seen is 10-11 psi. Shortly after I blew the coupler on my 3000 pipe to throttle body. Now it's back at 8 psi. |
thanks for the info, i plan on keeping the fcd on it, but im not going above 10-11 psi, and if i do start blowing charge pipes, ill have to back it down, untill i get the hard pipe kit

i was fine a 12 psi, when my car was stock, til my friggin clutch gave out on me, then i turned the boost down to 10 psi jus get a walbro 255lph fuel pump, and a aeromotive fuel pressure regulator you can still stretch out the injector to compensate for the extra boost and the pump and regulator, you can adjust if needed |
i have 550s and a lexus afm if i get a fuel pressure regulator i know i can safely turn my boost up but what do you need to do about the fuel cut? does anybody know
