Default Gauge Pods...more gauges

ok so earlier i posted that thing about my gauges. ive got a new dash unit and some reverse glow gauges on the way. i dremeled the dash to death trying to get these gauges in not knowing they wouldnt fit. so now im on to a gauge pod. my buddy says "dont do it, it will look terrible, you dont have the trim for it bla bla bla". so im sitting here going maybe i do or maybe i can mount it somewhere other than than the upper left corner of the car. any suggestions and if so what brand pod. i only need 2 or three gauges.any help would be appreciated THANKS!!
