Default Rebuilding my ct-26

SOOOO iv taken in upon myself to rebuild my ct-26. So far iv gotten the compressor housing off, and the exhaust housing off as well. basically it looks like this

Question though; on the ct-26 rebuild website it mentions pulling off the compressor nut. It says its a 10mm, and i can tell you its no 10mm. it looks to be something like a 18pt or 24pt nut. Anyone give me guidence here?

Also if the turbo im rebuilding is a upgraded .50 trim t3/t04e ct-26, can i still buy a standard ct-26 rebuild?

And i know i have to get the shaft balenced so dont try and tell me i dont know what im doing.

I used to be a jet engine mechanic for a living. I would say that for the rebuild kit if it includes a new compressor wheel then your trimmed compressor wheel would have to be saved or get the new one trimmed as well. As for the nut I dont think they make a 18pt or 24pt socket or nut but it might be 12pt. Jet engines are a lot like turbos in a sense and they use a ton of 12pt nuts everywhere. Easier to torque and that kind of stuff. Go to sears and get a set of metric 12pt sockets. If they dont fit may be a SAE never know they are funny sometimes.

thx for the reply. I can tell you for sure its not a 12pt on the compressor wheel. The exhaust turbine is a 12pt 15mm. But the compressor nut has waaay more pt's on it than 12. Im pretty sure someone mentioned it could be an SST from toyo. Although they also said this is what the original nut would be like, not a trimmed up wheel nut. Maybe they resused the original, if they did there goddamn retarded.

I looked in the tsrm and found a tool for that it is in the one listed on this forum not good at linking. As for that I called the toyo house and it is a expensive tool from what they say. If you lived close my friend actually has one he would let you borrow. From what he said you have to replace that nut becuase he thinks it is self locking and has that bent top to lock it. He said it was a 18pt socket that is part of the T handle that it comes on. At least when you do the rebuild you know who did the work and you know that it was done right.

I am also in the process of rebuilding my CT26. The nut you are refering to can be taken off with a 3/8 socket. You just have to tap it on there lightly. My turbo rebuild kit came with a new nut. Here is a link to a website that has some great pictures that may be of some help.

ok thanks man that will help.

only one question left then, can i use a regular ct-26 rebuild kit with my turbo? even though its a t3/t04e .50 trim ct-26. Im assuming yes.
