I don't have any tips as of yet - but I'm going to do this same thing within the next week. After looking again - it looks like an extension and the feel of the fingers might be the answer here. I think the real tough part might just be a fat man laying on his back on the floor board trying to play under this dash. Might be a week but will keep you posted.
