I'm new to the forum. Love Supras. Wanting to get another one since my first car was a Supra. Came across an 87 Turbo that is immaculate, with only 61K. Owned by a 62 year old who is selling his toys and business to buy a trailer to travel during retirement. Everything on the car is original and in perfect shape. Only concern is that he said that after it sits for awhile and you start it up, you get a few seconds of blue smoke. He said he had the car checked out before putting it on the market to find out why. Was told that everything checked out, boost, compression, etc. Toyota mechanic said that being older there may be a slight oil leak onto a vavle or something, but not to worry about it.
So, should I worry about a BHG? Is a block test easy to do? He's asking $6500. If everything else is perfect, is the car worth it? I love this site and have learned a lot in one night, but don't have the time to completely research my question. Need to decide by Friday. I hope someone can help me out. Please advise. Thanks! |
