My 87 supra also does that clank with the wheel turned all the way to the lock and also when I pull out my driveway where the suspension flexes a bit.

There are/were rubber stops under the car to stop the noise from when you fully turn the car from one side to the other. Turn the wheel all the way and look for the contact point and see if it has any rubber on it.

Wink

I put some synthetic brake caliper grease on the steering 'stops', and I never hear any noises.

I recommend NOT turning your steering wheel all the way to the stops while moving. You can go there, but then back off them a little while the car is moving.
