Default Exhaust System

mmk. 87 turbo supra...looking at all these diagrams i have and stuff, it does downpipe, cat, straightpipe thing, cat, resonator, then pipe then muffler.

if i buy the Cooleeze catback system with magnaflow muffler and a high flow cat (both from suprasport), and a cooleeze downpipe from their home page, will that totally cover the whole exhaust system? or am i missing a section...i dont wanna hook up stuff and realize the mufflers gonna be in front of the rear wheel.

edit: oh, and legality issues...will it be legal with the stock catalytic converter on the downpipe, and the high flow cat? will it be legal with the cooleeze downpipe with the high flow cat? someone told me since it was a pre 1994 (or something like that year) i only needed one cat on there, they wouldnt check my emissions output at all (like with the needle thing up the tailpipe).

y dont you just try gettin a exhuast tipe then new muffler and down pipe..dat could b cheaper on u just to get custom piping..i bought an apexi exhaust tip for 100 off the guy i bought my car from and did a three inch piping from stock cat...and total with pipe and tip only wasted 190...thats wayy cheaper then wha i wanted to do and get a hks turbo cat system..just an idea

yeah it could be cheaper, but i wanna know if this would be legal first. it comes with a magnaflow muffler which is an awesome sound i think, and is 3", which i definitely want.

unless u leave in california like i do im sure itll pass buh 3inch on a N/A i say your better with just a 2.5 cuz all the supras i know are all turbo 7mgte or 1jz or 2jz swap in mikiii and they run 3inch to 3.5inch...so 2.5inch pipe with cat should pass u fine

1987 supra turbo actually, it has a 92 7MGTE...but whatever. all rightey, im just making sure before i order parts.

um....hehe, another question =D the cat back system will come with all the bolts i need right? and do i need to buy the metal exhaust hangars on the website....i dont think the cat back exhaust comes with them, and i might as well buy new ones as theyre only 5 bucks and the old ones are 20 years old.

im just gonna do the exhaust myself because a) im a cheapo, and b) i want to actually do some stuff on my own car...learn how things coexist within the car and help it to run, and learn how to fix everything myself. but ok, thanks for the other info....prolly bolting it on because i have to take it off eventually to put on a new 3" downpipe anyways, its got a crack in it.

I think emission laws really depend on what state you live in. But I think universally removing ANY catalytic converter is technically against the law. Replacing them with a high flow is not. Find out if your emissions testing place even checks for that stuff. In my state, at least my town, they didn't even check the exhaust system, they just put the hose in the tailpipe, and plugged into my lighter socket and had me run it to 25mph for a few seconds to get a reading.

One thing I noticed you didn't have listed (or I didn't see) was an aftermarket exhaust header. I don't know if it's needed or not, but you might check into it. Couldn't find one on suprasport other than the N/A ones, but I'm pretty sure they make em.
