Start the engine, then shut it off after a few seconds. Pull the plug and smell it. Is it gas. Sounds like a fuel injector is stuck open (some).
We see this problem at the shop at least every 2 weeks. Sometimes you can remove them and clean them. A seal kit is about $30-36 for all six. I strongly recommend using some strong fuel system cleaner in the gas tank. http://www.toyota-supra.info/forums/...ead.php?t=4658 http://www.toyota-supra.info/forums/...ighlight=video

i have already put a bottle of stp injector cleaner and a full tank of chevron gas in the car.
i did another diagnostic, and this time got a code 42 "vehicle speed sensor." im thinking this has nothing to do with my problem, and everything to do with the fact my speedometer stopped working because i accidently broke the cable replacing the heater core(not a fun job!) what does the ecu need to know the vehicle speed for anyway? the misfire problem began before my speedo cable troubles. |

TEMS. the ecu needs speed ranges to determine what level (soft, medium or stiff) the suspension will change to. if you go over 65 mph, it will bump it up a level, then back below 55, itll bump it back down. probably other stuff too though.
