Angry Power steering pump.. 89 turbo.

My power steering pump was making noise and the wheel was getting hard to turn, so I decided to replace it. I bought one of of ebay from a user with a pos feedback of 99.9%. I pulled the old pump out and installed the new one(which may I say is the biggest pain in the ASS!!!). I filled it up with PS fluid, left the cap open while the car was running and turned the wheel left and right to bleed any bubbles out the system. The new power steering pump also makes noise! Is there anything I can do or is this pump also bad??

Thumbs up Additive should help

Oh, all right, I'll tell you what I know.

Many pumps make noise, sort of a buzz, or whine. It may increase when turning the wheel.

I've had more than one "reman" pump make a lot of noise. So much so, that I had to replace it under warranty.

Ford pumps make noise more than any other brand.

Toyota pumps aren't known to be noisy. Was the ebay one a used one, or rebuilt??

One reason I tell people to buy from a local parts house is the warranty. You can just return it for another one.

Also, I don't buy rebuilt stuff from Pepboys or Autozone, because they sell the cheapest crap they can get.

So what if it is warrantied for life, I just can't afford to keep using that warranty.

You can try to quiet the pump down by adding a cup of LSD additive from BG (sold thru repair shops)
BG LSII
Limited Slip Axle Additive Concentrate
BG LSII is designed to prevent chatter in plate and clutch type limited slip differentials. BG LSII may be used with any GL-5 gear lubricant in limited slip applications. It is also excellent for eliminating chatter in full-time four wheel drive transfer cases. The ingredients in BG LSII smooth and quiet operation of gears in the differential and fortify the additives in the gear lubricant.
Part No. 328
6 oz. (177 mL) tube
...................
or some Ford LSD additive (get at dealer).

If it won't quiet up with one of those, it ain't gonna get quiet.

I really really really hope its not my rack. It does not really get that hard to turn, but it does make ugly noises when turning. I know my pump has a leak, so I need to replace it anyways. How would I know if the rack was bad?
