You need to cut your loss and quit crying. If you weren't smart enough to take someone with you that knows what they're doing and knows what to look for, then you wouldn't have gotten the shaft.

Your comment about shops whether they be old school or new school screwing you either way is uneducated and idiotic. I happen to be a mechanic, and i'm sick and tired of people with no clue of mechanical workings, that think that every mechanic is out to take advantage of them and screw them. Get a clue. I bust my ass at work to make a good name for myself and for all mechanics in this trade, and i'll be damned if i'm gonna let some punk talk shite about all mechanics being shady. Do a little research before you spout your mouth off. Not all of us are crooks, but you well know, it only takes a couple of dumbasses to spoil it for the rest of us. Think about all of that for a minute, will you?
