Default heat getting into car

when i drive fast (as on the highway), i feel heat coming in from the air vents even if theyre closed. Seems like either my heater is always on or heat from the engine is getting through the firewall. But, my guess is that the main problem is the heater (feels like heat from a heater, smells like it too). I think im gonna get another A/C control unit (some of the functions dont work anyway), but is there anything else I should look out for? I mean I only feel the heat when I drive fast, as the A/C control unit works independently of the movement of the car, so how are these related?

I did the same thing then I realized even when the fan is all the way off the temp is still the same of the air comming through the vents so before you turn your fan off turn the temp down and it should be cooler.

Hes very right, Your heater pulls fresh air from outside, so when you drive fast, the air is forced through everything, then through the heater core and out comes hot air, just like LUZE said, turn the temp down before you turn off the fan, it will close the heater control valve and not let hot coolant into the heater core. that should fix your problem!!!

well that seems to have fixed the hot air problem, but the air problem remains. where does the incoming air leak from? I can feel it through the vents but I cant see where it flows in through the firewall.

Default maybe not

that seems to be working only sometimes. ill turn the temp down before turning the fan off but sometimes the air still comes in hot. of course that has to do with the air outside (which is still pretty damn hot here), but it will come in hotter than the outside temp. my a/c unit has a bunch of issues so im gonna change it anyway. until then ill have to keep riding with my windows down
