I have a 1989 supra that has a non-turbo engine in it. And im buying a 89 turbo engine and i was wondering what all i need to swap it over. Like do i need a different tranny or what? Clutch? Anything that i need i need to know.

now would be a good time o change the clutch and flywheel, the tranny on the N/a can't handle much power so that would be a good change to make sure you get the afm for the turbo and probably the ecu they should be different.

how about did you get or have the intercooler and piping and th edown pipe?

as for the turbo tranny, it has a different style clutch, throw out bearing and slave cylinder. so, be sure to get those extra pieces.

Would the non-turbo tranny bolt up to the turbo engine even? If it does i could just get a higher stage clutch for now?

they will bolt up, however you would need the equivalent of a stage 2 or 3 non turbo clutch for it to hold-gracefully. however, you can use a stage 1 turbo disc with the non turbo pressure plate stage 1. it should keep costs down and holding capacity up. now so far as how long the actually tranny will survive, depends on you.

HOWEVER THE TRAINNY SURE BOLT RIGHT UP.....BUT IF YOUR TRAINNY BEFORE IS AUTO. THAN YOU JUST NEED TO DO SOME REWIRING ON THE TRAINNY THO....IF NOT AUTO. THAN DONT WORRY ABOUT IT....THE TRAINNY SURE BOLT RIGHT UP....ALL YOU DO IS TO FIND YOURSELF A RIGHT CLUTCH FOR IT...
