There is a cable running along the driver side floor. These are prone to breakage. You can just leave it "unlockked" all the time like i did. If you go on the passener side of the trunk/hatch, There is a little panel you can pull off. From here you can reach over by the gas tank lid, And feel the hatch clicker/lock thing. You have to cut the cable and pull it to get it to open(or find the place where its broken, Mine was right by the inside handle), Then once open, take the nut off from inside the gas cap area, And pull the clicker out. Then your gas door will be accessible all the time, Untill you buy a new cable, But at least you can buy gas now. I even passed inspection NJ with that, If it matters

Well if the cable breaks the thing is basically locked closed. But if its just loose, then that will work. Give it a try and post back.

i guess my cables is only loose. its not broken, at least not yet. i just played with the lever on the inside until it popped out. i think the pusher thing inside the hatch was loose too, cuz i tightened it and it opens easier now. still, im gonna look into fixing the cable so it doesnt come as a surprise later on. in the meantime i filled my tank
