not sure about torque converter lockup but this website will be extremely useful www.cygnusx1.net/supra
browse thru the auto sections and see what toyota says you can adjust the line pressure up a bit to make the shifts a little harder but if your tranny is old and worn it will more than likely wear it that little bit faster if you wanna spend money you could get an upgraded valvebody for it
