Exclamation Leaky Targa

My '87 targa top leaks and I don't think it's the seals. Water fills the plastic moulding above the windows and I get drenched when I brake. Are there seals under the rain gutter that may be leaking? As soon as I get this fixed I'll work on the leak in the rear deck lid.

Default Silicone

Both seals on my targa are covered in Silicone so it does not leak much - need to repair it next spring.

I had my car converted to the targa. A scary concept having someone cut your roof down to door level. Mine was leaking so i put some plastic film over the seals on the car, siliconed up the seals on the roof and pressed them together for about a week. When i finally took the roof off again, all the silicone was moulded to the removable roof section and made it seal propperly again. A bit crude i know but you never see the silicone cause the roof is either on your car or in your boot. A lot better than paying rediculous prices for genuine seals.
