Do you already have a metal head gasket in the first place? if you didnt get your head/block machined flat then you need to do that. If its a regular head gasket, And other than the MHG thing i just said, just look for the numerous head gasket replacement posts/websites. The mhg is the same kinda install as a regular one. I wanted to know tho...Is there any better gasket sealer to use or do you use any at all on the mhg. Ive never installed my own metal gasket before. Im sure youd use some kind of sealant tho...

You get what you pay for.
Cheap out on yourself (doing it yourself) which you said you have zero experiance. Vs. using Final Stage ( which have TONS of Mk3 experiance) which runs a very sucsessful mk3 drag car. Let the shop do it. Then if something goes wrong, they are liable :? |

Yeah, I visited the shop yesterday and they have about 4-5 old mk3's sitting around. I heard the owner, Tony, has a MK3 putting down something like over 800 HP. I haven't seen it yet though. How have you heard about Final Stage?
Well just found out some interesting info about the place. When I went by there the shop wasn't very impressive though, but I guess the owner must know what he's doing if he's putting down this kind of power. Turbo Tony Runs 10.2 @ 136! On Friday June 10th of 2005 Turbo Tony broke the world record by running a 10.2 @ 136 mph with a 7M GTE motor and a 5 speed manual transmission in his 87 Toyota Supra. This is the second record Turbo Tony has set within a year. The first record being most power put to the rear wheels with a 7M GTE motor. Turbo Tony put down 808 RWHP & 741 foot pounds of torque on May 31st, 2005 making himself one of the current record holders for most power made on a 7M GTE motor. well.. it takes a shop about 7-8hours to do the job, or atleast the toyota dealer says. so it would probibly take a few days to do it yourself, you will want to do alot of research about it before hand aswell. you can get a haynes repair manual, at canadian tire on supra's 86-92.. i saw one the other day, there like $20cdn and im sure it will show you how to do it step by step. the main thing, is marking where everything goes and make sure to look up things u dont know. good luck, i need to do mine to.
