Yes, because the 5m and 7m block castings are the same, as are the bolt patterns for the bell housings. I've got a Celica Supra mkII, which I'm putting a 7mgte motor in but keeping the 2.8 w58 gearbox.
you'll need to use the friction plate from the 2.8 set-up, so it fits the w58 input shaft, but as for the cover: ideally it would be the from 7m so it can bolt to the 3.0 flywheel, but the 3.0 cover is a big heavy cast item and with a built in thrust bearing- i haven't solved this problem myself yet, as am still rebuilding the turbo motor, but am hoping the 2.8 clutch cover will fit the 3.0 flywheel, and be strong enough: maybe someone else can shed some light on this, 'cos I'd like to know too.
